Earth Day Lesson From The Bronx
A special Earth Day post this week about a girl from The Bronx (ahem…me) who could have turned out differently, but believes the love and joy from her parents sustained her.
Broken glass and littered sidewalks could have made me question or ignore the need to even try. But playing victim isn’t the solution. The solution is having fun during the process of making your own path.
Here are some ways to save the planet, while not sacrificing style or joy:
ThredUp allows you make more sustainable choices with your wardrobe, but still use the brands you love
Rothy’s was the first brand I ever used to purchase washable shoes and I will forever be a loyal customer
Composting is possible by visiting a local farmer’s market or local park with composting options or in your own backyard. When I lived in an apartment I used to freeze scraps and take them to the weekly market.
Rent the Runway was a brand I used several times, including during my engagement photoshoot 13 years ago
Package Free Shop is a great website to learn about more sustainable products and how to reduce waste. Comment below if you would like to see a post about my personal favorites.
What are some fun ways you enjoy taking care of our home?
Until next time [God willing],
Sandy
