Backstory
We all procrastinate.
When I wrote this I was wearing the wristwatch in the photo above.
Why?
It primes my brain to shift into writer mode.
This wristwatch was a gift from my husband for my birthday last year. While I would love to wear it all day every day and have no problem doing that, a gift like this doesn’t quite make sense when completing certain day-to-day tasks and chores.
As I shared that thought with my husband, he said something that truly gave me a newfound appreciation for this watch. He said, “Wear it while you’re writing.” It was the perfect solution when it came to attaching a symbol to something I’m working on. To put me in the right mindset. I even wear it when I’m enjoying a walk on my own to put me in “writer mode” — focusing on appreciation, ideas, and inspiration. It also reminds me to have fun in life.
So if you’re procrastinating on something you want to achieve or just want to incorporate some fun into a goal, then wear, use, or have something next to you that symbolizes the person you are becoming.
Until next time,
Sandy
