Evening prep
My 4 year old daughter, Abigail, recently invited me to her tea party. It was almost bedtime, so as I prepped a warm bath and her cozy pajamas, she told me all about her concept. It included specific details, such as the time of day — well, in her words, “in the morning.”
I admired her passion, vision, and the way she prepared to bring that vision to life. She effortlessly took small, but significant steps to prep the night before.
This could be similar to placing your sneakers by the door to get outside for a morning walk; or if you’re runner, preparing your running shoes and clothes.
I’ll admit, I have a hard time leaving things out as “reminders.” I feel like it just piles up; however, Abigail’s efforts are a great example. When inspiration strikes the night before, or when you plan to do something like take a walk or a run, let that inspiration be your driving force.
In many ways, this aligns with a book I read last year called All It Takes Is A Goal, by Jon Acuff. So if a vision feels unattainable, break it down into smaller steps.
I shared my vision board above, which includes some fun things I plan to accomplish today. Be sure to include some fun.
Similar to Abigail, I worked on this the night before and included details in my weekly planner. I try my best to work on one task at a time using the Pomodoro Technique. But more on that method in a future post. And remember, always be a kid at heart.
With love,
Sandy
